Daily Activities and Assignments (homework is in bold)
Week 1
Wednesday 1/11/17 (Day 1)
Today we introduced ourselves, talked about the syllabus (which is located on the home page of AZ/US History 1 section). I assigned the first assignment which was the syllabus confirmation form (which is also located on the home page of AZ/US History 1 section, and will be “turned in” through google classroom – contact Ms. P for class code) that will be due on Thursday Jan 19. Then the students studied the colonization process looking specifically at the Spanish and their colonies in the Southwest. Students took notes and watched two short videos while completing worksheets. Then the students studied the geography America during the period of early Colonization.

Today we as a class begin a study on the Columbian Exchange. Students took brief notes and then got into groups of 4. They read and annotated a document while completing a graphic organizer.

Today the students studied the different regions of the original 13 colonies. In number groups they read and annotated an article about their specific region and answered questions about it, then in color groups shared their information on a graphic organizer.
Wednesday 1/18/17 (Day 4)

Thursday 1/19/17 (Day 5)
Today the students completed the 1st Day quiz (the link for which can be found on Google Classroom, if not accessible or turned on please contact Ms. P), then they completed their Pre-test and then they developed their own colony from scratch.
